John Elway clears the air about Broncos' quarterback situation

Joseph, the Broncos' new head coach, said Wednesday at the National Football League scouting combine that he likes his two young QBs, Trevor Siemian, who's recuperating from (non-throwing) shoulder surgery, and Paxton Lynch, who's recovering from a disappointing rookie season.

"We've got two young guys that played last year and won nine games last year combined, and probably should have won more", Joseph said. Joseph can't talk about any National Football League veteran who now is on another team's roster because of anti-tampering rules, and we know who he was talking about. Said they're moving forward with the 2 QBs but are open to anyone who can help them win. In addition, few, if any teams would be willing to pay that salary and give up a draft pick - likely a second-round selection - for a 36-year-old quarterback prone to injuries.

Benjamin Allbright, a reporter based in Denver, said that if the Broncos could successfully land quarterback Tony Romo, the Bills would be interested in acquiring Siemian. We need to finish in the red zone.

"Those are things that are under consideration and [we] think about if we're going to bring in a veteran or not". "I'm excited that Mike's back, I think he'll do a good job and I'm excited about the prospects of what we'll do offensively".

The decisions he must make now are similar to the ones he had to make last off-season, when his team lacked a proven starting quarterback and a reliable offensive line.

The Broncos' offense under former coach Gary Kubiak last season finished 27th in total yards and 22nd in points per game.

"I don't want to comment too much on that", Garrett said, in a comment that speaks volumes.

"This is the time of year that you look at everything", Elway said.

And that's two. The Broncos are fine.

There are obviously a lot of moving parts there, but the connection is new Bills offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, who coached Siemian previous year and would like a guy who knew his system.

Did he have an update on quarterback Tony Romo? Obviously he has great skills. McDermott also said that Willliams is returning after the player contemplated retirement. Is he ready? That's a tough question.

Enter the Broncos. A year after winning the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler splitting QB duties, Denver missed out on the postseason behind first-time starter Trevor Siemian and rookie Paxton Lynch.
