Radiohead forced to leave Coachella stage twice due to sound issues

Even if you're not at Coachella this weekend you can still break out the balloons

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival got off to a rough start on Friday night, as Radiohead's set was chock-full of technical issues that forced the band to walk off stage multiple times.

Given that Radiohead have a series of European dates on their W.A.S.T.E tour, fans of the band are watching every single gig that Thom Yorke and co. play because when it comes to live performances, they're one of the best bands around.

The technical difficulties began three songs into the band's set, and included both sound dropout and episodes of audio feedback. They returned to the stage, but left again after the audio dropped out again during the In Rainbows opener "15 Step".

Technicians rushed to fix the broken speakers, and Radiohead eventually returned to complete their headline set after a five-minute break. Yorke asked the disgruntled crowd. Yorke said. "I'd love to tell you a joke, lighten the mood, something like that. But we're Radiohead so f**k it".

"Oh you know a amusing thing happened on the way to the festival tonight. oh no it didn't", Yorke mused before launching into rare fan favorite "Creep" to uproarious cheers. Songs performed include "Paranoid Android", "Karma Police", and "Creep". Lady Gaga is Saturday's headliner at the two weekend festival, after she replaced a heavily pregnant Beyonce in February, and Kendrick Lamar will headline on Sunday.
