Was gunman ready to head home before congressman's shooting?

Mark Walker's emotional reaction to GOP baseball shooting

The shooting suspect, James Hodgkinson, was killed by police.

Hodgkinson opened fire on congressman and their aides on Wednesday while they practiced at a baseball field in Alexandria. It's an attack which sent several to the hospital including two Capitol police officers and Congressman Steve Scalise.

As for Scalise, he's still in critical condition, but he's improving.

The list was written on notepad paper, the Daily Caller reported, citing law enforcement sources.

The list, recovered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was found in James T. Hodgkinson's pocket, according to The Daily Caller.

Along with the names - Representatives Mo Brooks of Alabama, Jeff Duncan of SC and Trent Franks of Arizona - Hodgkinson also had photos of the field on his phone, law enforcement officials told the NYT. There has been a sharpened awareness,"with regards to security".

Brooks told CNN that he was contacted by Capitol Police and told his name and office number were on the list. Slater declined to name the officials whose names were on the note or say whether they were Republicans or Democrats or were at the baseball practice.

Scalise (R-Jefferson), the majority whip, is still in critical condition after being shot in the hip.

"This man was just so passionate and hateful toward (President Donald) Trump", said mechanic Crist Dauberman of the Del Ray Service Center.

The FBI also recovered a cell phone, a computer and a camera in the shooter's van and is processing the items, according to a statement the agency issued on Thursday.

Duncan told reporters the morning of the attack that he had encountered Hodgkinson who asked him if it was Republican or Democratic lawmakers on the field. House Speaker Paul Ryan said that Scalise "is on the road to recovery".

Hogkinson himself identified as a "progressive" and volunteered for the campaign of Vermont Sen. A recent post by Hodgkinson said, "Trump is a Traitor". Bernie Sanders, was shot and mortally wounded by police before being taken into custody.
