Ghost Recon: Wildlands open beta for Ghost War PvP mode coming later this summer

Titled Ghost War, the Wildlands PvP game mode will be delivered to owners of the game for free later this year but Ubisoft has announced alongside a new gameplay trailer that they will be holding an open beta for the general public.

According to Ubisoft, Ghost War "was designed from the ground up with the community in mind".

Ghost War is Wildlands' new PvP mode.

The open beta will be available on all platforms, and the full mode will be a free update.

One team plays as Ghosts and one team plays as spec ops soldiers fighting for control over Bolivia.

Specialized classes such as Scout, Sniper, Tank, and more each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and dedicated perks. Said battlefields will be large-scale, open maps in which you'll hunt and take down your enemies with your squad. Just like in the main game, teamwork is essential to success, so you'll need to make sure your class works in tandem with your teammates' skills. New mechanics are also being added including suppression fire and sound markers. Ghost War will reportedly sport large maps that challenge players to contend with unsafe terrain and weather conditions in addition to enemy players. Further details on Ghost War's classes are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks, so those interested will have to stay tuned.

If you've been looking forward to PvP in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, you can look forward to trying it out later this summer.
