Tiemoue Bakayoko not a target for Man Utd amid Chelsea interest

Jose Mourinho doesn't believe Alexandre Lacazette has enough stamina for the Premier League

Chelsea's offer stands at £35 million, a figure they had been unwilling to go beyond due to concerns over a knee injury that required keyhole surgery last month and could yet force Bakayoko to miss the opening weeks of the new campaign.

Bakayoko's arrival - which Chelsea hope to conclude by the time they leave for Asia for a pre-season tour next Monday - should see Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic leave for a similar fee to that of the Frenchman.

While the 22-year-old was not happy with Chelsea's initial wage proposal, a deal has now been reached with a significant increase on his Monaco contract a given.

Antonio Conte has been keen to bolster his options in midfield, and regards Bakayoko as a near-perfect partner for French compatriot N'Golo Kante.

With that in mind, the Premier League champions may be reluctant to play a part in strengthening a major title rival once again by letting Matic move to Manchester.

United have informed Monaco they're willing to better any bid from Chelsea for the midfielder.

And it appears he is already scrubbing up on his English ahead of his deal after uploading a video to his Instagram called 'TB14 Coming soon'.

Bakayoko posted a picture of a Eurostar carriage and some newspapers to Snapchat.

The player is valued at around £40m but Manchester United's deal with Romelu Lukaku has slowed down the process of signing the Chelsea player. In total he made 51 appearances last season, adding a further goal in the Champions League against Manchester City.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez would prefer to sell James Rodriguez to Chelsea over Manchester United.
