Man wounded in shooting near Golden Gate Park

The San Francisco Police Department is seeking five suspects Friday, following a shooting at Dolores Park Thursday afternoon that injured three people, one of them seriously.

A witness told NBC Bay Area a group of about five to six people wearing bandanas approached a group on a bridge at the park.

Police are looking for at least one gunman who escaped from Dolores Park, Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

Police say three people were shot and transported to hospitals but didn't release other details.

According to the witnesses, about half dozen of males started shouting and try to threaten everyone in the park. they were standing at the park bridge, their face was covered, only eyes were visible.

Police arrived to the park after receiving reports of shots fired just after 3 p.m. Thursday, the Examiner reported.

"I normally can handle (myself) well in these situations, but I was pretty sure I had just lost my life", he said.

Juhasz claims to have seen two of the victims, one man, who appeared to be bleeding from his chest and another who was being helped by paramedics. 3 shooting victims at this time.

She says it was a terrifying moment because people were not reacting, possibly thinking the blasts were fireworks.

The park, which sits on a hill, was crowded with people, including children in a playground and running around the grass.

Another witness told the site that he saw a man holding a handgun with a grey hoodie over his head.

In the hours following the shooting, crime scene technicians combed the scattered mess of backpacks and clothing surrounded the base of the Miguel Hidalgo statue where the three victims were shot.
