Samsung Galaxy S8 Active launched for AT&T users: Know Galaxy S8 Active price

Now, an image claimed to be of Galaxy Note8's battery has surfaced online revealing the capacity.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 is this year's best phone so far. Samsung also claims that the S8 Active can last through 32 hours of talk time, 113 hours of audio playback and even 5 days when on standby.

Samsung has recently announced the Galaxy S8 Active.

The Galaxy S8 Active has a larger battery: 4000mAh vs 3000mAh - and this will make a difference. Added to that, Samsung said the S8 Active variant was built as their "toughest Galaxy Smartphone yet". The 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display on Galaxy S8 remains same in Galaxy S8 Active. They run the same software, feature identical camera setups, the same amount of RAM, and the same CPUs clocked at the same speeds.

Slash Leaks has posted new images of Galaxy Note8's Li-ion batteries confirming that the device will have 3,300mAh.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, on account of its more rugged design, is bulkier and slightly larger and heavier than the Galaxy S8.

Other than the mentioned additions, the Galaxy S8 Active has technical specs that are very much like that of the Galaxy S8 - a similar set of sensors (fingerprint reader, iris scanner, etc.), Bixby support, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, Android 7 Nougat, 64 GB built-in storage and 4 GB memory.

Yes and no. If battery life is important to you, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active's additional 1000mAh of power will make a pretty significant difference to overall battery performance. The Suwon-based technology giant has scheduled a media event in New York on 23 August to unveil a new smartphone, which is expected to be called the Galaxy Note 8.

And then there's the design.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is also exclusive to AT&T for a limited time, so if you're interested in picking one up, head on over to its landing page and check out all of AT&T's Samsung Galaxy S7 Active deals. Personally, I prefer the look of the Samsung Galaxy S8; I like its curved display and overall look and feel. It is also IP68 certified, which means it can be submerged in water up to 1.5-meter deep for as long as 30 minutes and suffer no damage.

The Galaxy S8 Active, which the South Korean company says has passed military specification testing, is geared toward users in environments such as extreme outdoor sporting events and construction sites, where a standard device may succumb to wear and tear.
