Armed police descend on hotel in Salford after child hit by vehicle

Armed police and other emergency services attended but the boy died at the scene, Greater Manchester police (GMP) said on Friday.

Although a number of attempts were made the save the boy's life by both members of the public and paramedics it is understood he tragically died at the scene as a result of his extensive injuries.

Police were called after witnesses say they heard "blood-curdling" screams coming from the vehicle park of the Ibis hotel in Salford Quays on Thursday night (10 August).

The Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that an operation was underway in response to the death of a minor.

The collision is understood to have happened in the rear vehicle park of the Ibis Budget hotel, which connects to that of the AC Hotel Salford Quays.

Witnesses reported seeing a woman with blood on her body screaming and crying outside the hotel after the incident.

A disturbing video showing the scene before ambulances arrived surfaced on social media.

Chilling mobile phone footage posted online also captures a woman breaking down in tears. Twenty-three people, mostly Grande's teenage fans and their relatives, were killed in the attack.

In July, London Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick told BBC that law enforcement had managed to foil five terrorist plots in the last three to four months, noting that some of them were "minutes away" from being carried out.
