Paulinho who arrived at the Camp Nou this summer, came off the bench to net the victor, to ensure their ideal start to the season continues.

Barcelona preserved their 100 percent start to the season as Paulinho's late victor secured a 2-1 victory over Getafe in La Liga on Saturday.

Barcelona remain top of the league with 12 points after four games.

Getafe remain on four points and have now gone 10 LaLiga matches without a home win, despite a fearless performance.

A thunderbolt from Gaku Shibasaki had seen Getafe lead in the latter stages of the first period, but Denis Suarez and Paulinho both came off the Barcelona bench to win it for the league leaders.

Defending champions Real Madrid travel to Real Sociedad on Sunday (kick-off 19:45 BST).

Ousmane Dembele started his first La Liga game alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in the final third, while Andres Iniesta kept his position in the team.

Getafe were inches away from moving in front when a neat passing move ended with Shibasaki's cross from the left being put into the side netting by a stretching Molina only a yard out, with a vital deflection from Pique as the pass was making its way to the striker doing just enough to put him off.

Ousmane Dembele was forced off the field with a suspected hamstring injury halfway through the first half and was replaced by Gerard Deulofeu.

Samuel Umtiti, meanwhile, powered a header at goal, but it was saved by Vicente Guaita.

Paulinho came on as a second-half substitute and powered his way into the box before netting from a tight angle.

GOOOALLLLL Denis Suárez equalises!

Argentina worldwide Lionel Messi nearly levelled the scores just before the break but his brilliant free-kick, that seemed destined for the top-left corner, was superbly tipped around the post.

Barcelona continued their fine start to the new La Liga season with a hard-fought win over Getafe.
