Coyote Takes Highway Ride In Grill Of Car

But at a stoplight near her workplace, a construction worker informed Knox that there was in fact a coyote "embedded in my vehicle". Thankfully, just like in the cartoons he lived to tell the tale.

Georgie Knox says she hit the coyote with her Toyota on the QEII highway last week, and thought for sure that the crunch she heard was the sound of her vehicle rolling over the animal.

Photos posted on Knox's Facebook page show the coyote awkwardly squeezed into the broken lower grill of the white Toyota.

But when she stopped at a traffic light near Calgary's Foothills Hospital, a construction worker pointed out the young coyote was lodged in her grille and alive.

She says she heard a "crunch" and thought she'd run the animal over and killed it.

A coyote with all the luck of Wile E. tried to scamper across a road in Alberta, Canada, ahead of a speeding vehicle.

"When I got out to look, this poor little guy was looking up and blinking at me", Knox wrote.

After an appointment with a biologist to make sure he was healthy, Knox said officers released him in Kananaskis, a park system west of Calgary.

"Clearly mother nature has other plans for this special little guy!"
