FA rejects Liverpool's appeal, Mane to miss three games

TOPSHOT- Liverpool's Senegalese midfielder Sadio Mane challenges Manchester City's Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson, a challenge for which he is sent off during the English Premier League football match between Manchester City and Liverpool at the E

The Premier League have rejectedLiverpool's appeal against the length of Sadio Mané's suspension after he was sent off in their heavy defeat at Manchester City on Saturday.

If I told you one team would outshoot the other 22-4, have 65 percent possession, and have 10 more corners, which team would you pick to win the match?

Mane will miss two Gameweeks, sitting out Premier League fixtures with Burnley (H) and Leicester City (A).

"It was really our duty to appeal". Was it intentional? Yes! I don't think that is a red card, however the goalkeeper ends up.

The Brazilian trained ahead of the Feyenoord clash despite suffering a nasty clash with Liverpool's Sadio Mane at the weekend.

"It's the same as Mane's", Allardyce added. And obviously Ederson was not lucky.

While revealing that Ederson did not suffer a broken bone as a result of the incident, Guardiola refused to condemn Mane following the incident, realizing that the player did not intend on causing harm.

Some fans and pundits believe that Mané played the ball, as it was there to be won.

"We cannot change this and it's a sport where this happens". Us goalkeepers know this can happen, but you never expect it.

"But one game less would have been right".

The Reds boss opted to hand the Estonia international his first Premier League appearance of the 2017-18 season for the trip to their title rivals at the Etihad Stadium. "Not sure [if they will appeal]". "Ederson, the doctor says there is nothing broken", said Guardiola.

The 31-year-old has experienced muscle wounds in late seasons and City are probably not going to go out on a limb with his wellness.

Ederson still has terrible cuts all over and City's medicinal staff will evaluate how they are recuperating before settling on a ultimate conclusion on whether to enable him to play or to run with Chilean global Claudio Bravo. He should be back racing in a few weeks.

In four transfer windows, the German manager has only spent 5 million euros (BBC) to sign one center half in the form of Ragnar Klavan, who has proved to be an average defender.
