Giants' WR is game-time decision

Last season - the first year the "probable" designation was eliminated from injury reports - 70 percent of Giants players listed as questionable ended up playing that week, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.

"I'm itching to get out there, let me just say that", Beckham said this week, per NFL.com.

The best Giants teams have been built around defense, and a year ago they found their swagger on the defensive end once again on their way to an 11-5 record and a wild card berth. Their 88.6 rushing yards per game allowed tied for third (Dallas led at 83.5) and they ranked seventh at 5.12 yards per play allowed.

"You're trying to see how he comes in in the spring and how he responds and takes coaching and then he's gotten better and he's very coachable", special teams coordinator Tom Quinn said.

One would think that such a scenario would provide a whole bunch of familiarity... and it does, but every game is different. Armed with that knowledge, my gut feeling is that the Cowboys offense finds the balance they were missing last season, they go 3-for-3 in red zone trips and walk away with a 21-17 victory to start the season. It gave the quarterback more options and more time to throw with defenses focused on slowing down the running game.

The Giants will likely look to Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard more if Beckham is unable to play.

How can I stream New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys online? He gained 107 yards in their second meeting last season but keep in mind that was without the star defensive lineman on the field.

"I wouldn't count it out", Beckham told reporters Wednesday.

Even if the Giants need Beckham on the field to play their best, they have to believe they don't. More importantly, the Giants offensive line must protect Perkins and Eli Manning for the Giants offense to reach its full potential.

Less than 48 hours before the Giants open their season against the Cowboys, Odell Beckham Jr.'s status remains uncertain.

In the Sports Illustrated projections, the Dallas Cowboys will finish with a 10-6 record, which should be good enough for second place in the division.
