Miley Cyrus, Female NBC Writers Cruelly Remind Clinton of Her Devastating Loss

Miley Cyrus

"I could go on and on", she said, "but I'd like to get right to the point".

Cyrus took the desk at the end of the segment to share her emotional "Thank You" to Clinton.

The former Secretary of State told Jimmy Fallon she was "devastated" on election night, "not just because I thought I was going to win and I wanted to be president, and I wanted to do the work of being president, but because I was so anxious about what it meant to have my opponent win", she said. "You've been a role model and inspiration and a voice of reason in uncertain times".

"Thank you, Miley, the Tonight Show writers, and all of the women and young girls out there".

America's first female presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was showered with thank you's on Wednesday night by the female writing staff of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon - and a teary-eyed Miley Cyrus.

The country twang shined during "Week Without You" as Cyrus strummed her guitar, which matched the long-sleeve ivory gown she shouted out during her performance. The "Wrecking Ball" singer - who rekindled her romance with the heartthrob past year - has admitted her stomach churns when she learns that her handsome partner is working with attractive women on a new film, but she's happy not to ask too many questions because she has friends who keep an eye on him.

Miley Cyrus disclosed some of her secrets while promoting her new album Younger Now on the Howard Stern show. Three years ago, if you'd asked me if I'd be here, this happy with this man, I'd have been stunned. You are smart, strong, and deserving of every opportunity.

'When we broke up, he wanted to get away from me, ' Miley said.

To Fallon's relief, she promised to to keep speaking out about gun control and other issues now that she didn't have to worry about running for office. "But as Miley would say, we can't stop, and we won't stop", she finished, referencing Cyrus's hit 2013 song to cheers.
