Pontiac Mom going to prison for not vaccinating son

Judge orders Michigan mom 7 days in jail for not vaccinating her son

A MI mother will spend several days in jail after she refused to get her son vaccinated. Bredow's case first made headlines last week after her ex-husband took her to court over her refusal to vaccinate their son, despite agreeing to do so in November 2016, Fox 2 Detroit reported.

A mum has been jailed for refusing to vaccinate her son because it's "against her beliefs".

The judge revealed to Bedrow that she showed up in court on November 30 and consented to get her son vaccinated.

She and her ex-husband decided at the time of their child's birth that they would space out and delay jabs for their son.

Oakland County Judge Karen McDonald told Rebecca Bredow, the child's mother, that she violated an agreement to have the vaccine procedure done.

She claimed that immunising her son would "go against my beliefs", adding: 'I would rather sit behind bars standing up for what I believe in, than giving in to something I strongly don't believe in'.

Court documents obtained by ABC News state that a judge first asked Bredow to get immunizations for her son in November 2016, but the child remained unvaccinated almost a year later.

"I'm gonna stop you because the truth matters", the judge said. "If my child was forced to be vaccinated, I couldn't bring myself to do it", Bredow said. And the record, I urge you to review it and what you just said, that he has a newfound objection is not true. "Your attorney signed that order".

Accordingly, Bedrow was condemned to serve seven days in prison. McDonald granted temporary custody to him and ordered the boy to be properly vaccinated.
