Prince Harry's dog pal has got it licked at Heads Together reception

Prince William learned how his work has changed the way people talk about mental health, and wow

"This is what the partnership between the MoD and the Royal Foundation is all about - placing mental fitness and mental health at the heart of the training and support provided to the entire defence community".

The 35-year-old royal, who has not been seen in public since August 30, joined Prince William, 35, and Prince Harry, 33, to co-host a Buckingham Palace reception recognising the work of mental health workers.

"Quite simply, these men and women are prized assets which need to be continually invested in", he said on Monday (09Oct17).

Protecting the United Kingdom from Cyber Attacks is just as important as fighting terrorism, according to the Director of Intelligence Agency GCHQ. "We surely have to think of them as high-performance athletes, carrying all their kit, equipment and a rifle", he said. "But in many ways I have learned more about the sacrifices our servicemen and women make for us all since I left the army and continued my work with the Invictus Games".

PRINCE Harry yesterday launched a new mission to boost Our Boys and Girls' "mental fitness".

Lady Gaga said she felt people with mental health challenges were "not hiding anymore" and the Duke added that it is time "to feel normal about mental health - it's the same as physical health" and that good conversations can 'really make such a difference'.

"That's what we're trying to create, this idea they can just speak about it the same way they do their physical fitness".

The scheme also aims to develop mental health lectures and training for the courses some officer ranks and enlisted ranks - Corporal, Sergeant and Sergeant Major - have to complete to be promoted.

"In the same way that someone might say they're going to give the gym a miss because they've got a slight strain, if we can get them talking about mental health problems at an early stage, then you don't let it fester".

Lorraine Heggessey, CEO of The Royal Foundation, said, "People have told us that this was so important to them and we believe the national conversation is changing".

It is expected to be operational by January, 2018 with announcements about its first investments in digital tools made later in 2018.

Tobias Ellwood, the junior minister for defence people and veterans and a former captain in The Royal Green Jackets, said the only time he could recall being asked to think about the consequences of anything he did during military training was after he had practised bayoneting a sand bag. "I feel like it's exam results day", he said as he arrived at the Data Observatory at Imperial College London on Friday to view the findings.
