The Last of Us Part II gets new trailer

The Last of Us Part 2

The trailer was shown first during the Paris Games Week 2017 PlayStation Showcase and left the crowd in awe. The second trailer revealed by Naughty Dog is Lev and the voice actor behind him is Ian Alexander, the man who is known for his role as Buck Vu in The OA TV series.

Listen: The Last of Us isn't exactly a frolic through a field of flowers.

That's pretty much the crux of the trailer, a cold open to what The Last of Us Part 2 is going to be presenting to you in its game.

Luckily, she's rescued but not before one of the worst sequences for the squeamish you are ever likely to see in a game trailer. The two young ones also chose to save the hostage, and it was revealed that she used to work for the people who nearly killed them. I am very sure that no one of us saw this coming from them. However, Sony using it as one of the earliest pieces of marketing for the sequel feels misguided, with intense and graphic violence placed at the forefront of its presentation. Tribes seem to have formed following the years and events of the first game, with allegiances between perhaps the dysfunctional Fireflies and whoever opposes them.

Who are these people?! That's SAW levels of gratuity, and it suggests that the necessary violence in The Last of Us has been replaced by the fetishized violence of an Eli Roth film.

Needless to say, The Last of Us Part II looks ridiculously mature, dark and brutal - and we can't wait.

Neil Druckmann and his team at Naughty Dog have revealed that The Last of Us Part II will reunite Joel and Ellie.
