The X-Files reveals season 11 trailer

Are you excited for the new season? This according to a report by Den of Geek. Fan favorite X-Files writer Darin Morgan also contributes an episode to the new season, Carter confirmed.

And she confessed she hadn't planned to return for an 11th season, adding, "I thought I was done".

So, what made her want to do this season? But of course it arrives even as series star Gillian Anderson revealed that this season will be her last as Dana Scully.

Asked if she would be open to continuing beyond this next season, Anderson told Screen Rant, "No, I think this will be my last".

The X-Files returns next year, with a January or February rollout likely. With the episode order expanded, the question remained who would pen the final handful of episodes. All we know is that season 11 will air sometime in 2018. Morgan wrote and directed "Home Again" in season 10. She'll play four characters, two of them men, in episode three of the new season.

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions, The X-Files is created and executive-produced by Chris Carter.

THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993.

Although Carter did insist The X-Files is "currently trying to live in a more diverse world", that doesn't change the fact that the two seasons of the revival were written and directed nearly entirely by men. Here's what is being reported, and how fans of The X-Files may finally get those answers about William they've waited so long to hear. Well, we can't wait to find out.
