"Unfortunately, we lost our baby boy due to some complications, and had to prematurely deliver him early this morning around 4 a.m.", Goodwin wrote.

Following the long run into the endzone after the pass, and overcome with emotion, Goodwin fell to his knees, looked up to the sky, and collapsed to the ground, immediately surrounded by his teammates.

Marquise Goodwin played with a lot of heart on Sunday.

She added, "Today, I had to deliver my precious baby boy early this morning due to preterm labor". Goodwin knelt in the end zone and then dropped to both knees after running for a 83-yard touchdown.

The sporting world witnessed the San Francisco 49ers winning their first game of the season on Sunday.

According to NBC Sports Bay Area, Goodwin left the locker room quickly to be with his family following the game. He said of his wife, Morgan Goodwin-Snow, "The pain (physically, mentally, & emotionally) that she has endured is unbelievable".

Prayers to Marquise Goodwin, his wife, Morgan, and their entire family for their tragic loss. He and safety Eric Reid protested for the 49ers while defensive end Olivier Vernon was the only Giants player to do it. "He had a wonderful game today". Meanwhile, thousands of viewers at home were unaware of the story behind Goodwin's display.

"I just wanna thank those who've genuinely prayed for [wife Morgan Goodwin] & myself throughout this pregnancy", Goodwin began.
