Will there be more House of Cards? Not with Spacey

Netflix Severed Ties With Kevin Spacey So What's For House Of Cards

A number of other alleged victims, including crew members on House of Cards, have since come forward with disturbing claims against the star, and production on the hit show was shut down before Spacey was sacked.

House of Cards falls after allegations against actor Kevin Spacey.

Spacey's publicist also cut ties with him this week, according to Reuters. Netflix said that it and and Media Rights Capital, the production company, are working through the hiatus to "evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show".

Variety reported that producers were considering killing off Spacey's character, the malevolent President Frank Underwood, and have the show's final season focus on his scheming wife Claire, played by Robin Wright.

Kevin Spacey, it's definitely a legendary figure in the acting industry, until recently, when his impeccable reputation was tarnished by former colleague Anthony Rapp, who revealed Spacey harassed him when he was just 14. Following Rapp's revelation, several new claims of sexual assault have appeared, and even MRC mentioned one incident in the "House of Cards" production with Spacey, Deadline reported.

Spacey, as part of his apology to Rapp, announced he was gay, which angered many in the LGBT community and beyond who saw his announcement as an effort to divert attention from the accusation by Rapp.

On Friday, Scotland Yard said it was investigating an allegation that Spacey sexually assaulted a male actor in London.

It said Spacey had "willingly participated in a training process" and that it was not aware of any complaints since then involving the actor.

"We have also decided we will not be moving forward with the release of the film Gore, which was in post-production, starring and produced by Kevin Spacey".

For now, Netflix has not shared their plans for possible "House of Cards" spinoffs. Spacey plays the late writer Gore Vidal.
